I still lose everything. Some things never change! But there is still hope for me I think.

This week Sister Hanna and I had exchanges with Sister Loveridge and Klein (who we used to live with) And they came and stayed at our apartment for 2 days. We had still left their beds in the exact way that they left them, so it was just like we were all living together again šŸ™‚

All six of us missionaries also had dinner with the bishop last night and it was so fun! We lost a Book of Mormon Trivia game to the Elders and Bishop’s wife and I’m not sure if we will ever live that down! Also, Sister Klein has a really sore knee for some reason and it is affecting her work, and Elder Doty tore a ligament in his knee and can’t bend it. They both might have to go home for a transfer….we are all kind of worried. Keep them in your prayers!

Yesterday we also got to sing in our stake’s choir at the St. Petersburg Interfaith Association’s Festival and it was so cool! It was fun to talk to Pasters and Fathers and Preachers of other religions, and we went to a whole bunch of booths and signed ourselves up for community service projects. There were also black ladies singing gospel music at the top of their lungs! Reminded me of Annie!!! It was so cool, Hallelujah Amen!

We set another baptismal date this week with Joshua Martinez….He is eleven years old and is AMAZING! He lives with a member named Gwen Smith who just had a son come back from his mission in Los Angeles. His name is Thaddeous and we LOVE HIM! Josh’s mom (Maria) is very catholic but is open to religion and will let him worship in any way he likes. Yesterday Josh, his little brother Jayden, and Maria and her two baby girls all came to church! Maria ended up LOVING it and when Josh was sitting next to me during Sacrament Meeting his whispered to me that he thought God wanted him to be baptized here because he felt so good. I ALMOST DIED OF HAPPINESS. Joshua also has dread locks and looks exactly like the karate kid ha ha.

Sister Hanna and I have had a long week, lots of appointments fell through, and we are going to have to drop a lot of investigators that we love. The Giangrosso’s are not progressing towards baptism, and while we love them to death, we can’t waste the Lord’s time with those who will not follow him. It is going to be a hard week, but I know that the Lord will bless us as we focus on our purpose and seek those who will follow Christ.

On Friday we had a ward activity where returned missionaries each had a room in the church building and showed a Mormon message and then talked all about their missions and brought snacks from their culture. It was really neat to see, and to see how much their missions affect them still to this day. Loved it! Brother Larsen served in St. Petersburg, Russia, and now lives in St. Petersburg, Florida…and says the two are VERY different. Most of his time their they could not wear name tags in public, and he said it got so cold that when he sniffed in, his nostrils would freeze together. He word 5 layers of clothing, and during the winter when it was dark ALL DAY they would just proselyte from 10 am- 2 pm. Also, instead of water in the shower once, poop came out.
I LOVE MY MISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love and miss you!

Sister Davis
