Nov. 10, 2014 20th Bday!

Hello everyone!

Thank you all for the wonderful birthday gifts and wishes! It was a
wonderful 20th birthday πŸ™‚ I still feel 17 though… weird.
We have had quite a good week, I am absolutely loving my mission! Last
Monday for FHE my companion and I went to an elderly lady’s house for
‘Empty Nest’ which is where all the people in the ward who have kids
who’ve grown up have family night together. We were the only people
under sixty five, so that was fun πŸ™‚ in the middle of the lesson
sister kunz and I were teaching, a very sweet, very old, man named
brother studsteel randomly stood up while I was mid sentence and said
that he had an announcement…. He then proceeded to tell everyone
that people would just not stop feeding him all week, that he was
extremely flattered but angry, and that he was full and didn’t want
anymore food.
And then he sat down and started eating more food on his plate.
Ha ha, We still have no idea what the cheese he was talking about,
because we were teaching a lesson on love! He is the sweetest man
ever, we love him πŸ™‚
At the empty nesters thing, one sister told a cool story of a dear
friend of hers who is living in Washington whose wife recently died.
She felt prompted to talk with him about the gospel and so she called
him one day and they started talking about it over the phone. He had
lots of questions and they talked for quite a while. After they hung
up, she had another prompting to call him back and ask him to go to
church, and when she called him again, he asked her to hold on for a
second because someone was knocking at the door. Well, low and behold,
it was the sister missionaries!!!!! Needless to say, he is taking the
lessons now and is progressing well. The lady telling this was so
touched because she had not referred his name to any missionaries, but
knew God was watching over him πŸ™‚
My birthday was wonderful!!!! Thanks you mom dad, grandmas, grandpas,
and family for everything! I love and miss you πŸ™‚ sister kunz and I
went to red lobster for lunch with the Coleman family. Brad Coleman,
my adopted brother here was turning 25 the same day I was turning 20
so we had a double celebration. Of course I chose RED Lobster πŸ˜‰ That
night Eyana was attending young women’s for her first time and so we
went with her, and the YW leaders made birthday cupcakes!!! Overall it
was a great day. During young women’s I got an email from President
Cusick saying that sister Kunz and I were the new sister training
leaders in the Lakeland zone…..I was shocked! We went to MLC in
Tampa on Friday and got 6 hours of training. It was awesome! I am so
glad for this opportunity to serve. It is a heavier burden though, we
have lots of missionaries to watch over. Lots of work to do.
Eyana passed her baptismal interview!!!!!!!!! She is set for this
Saturday!!!!! Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy!
So sister kunz has been dying to go finding in this park down the
street from our apt, so on Tuesday we decided to go. I told her that
there must be a reason she couldn’t get it out of her mind and that
there was probably someone There we needed to meet. Before we went
there we prayed that we would meet someone prepared for baptism. Well,
we did. We met Selena, JJ, and Zach, sibling who all want to be “bap-
a- tized” as Zach says (they are as hick as it gets!) we love them so
much!!!! They are getting baptized the 22 of November and came to
church yesterday. We met their parents and they are fine with it, they
have already read 3 chapters in the Book of Mormon! We are so blessed.
I love the Lord. πŸ™‚
Thanks for everything, keep these baptismal dates in your prayers! Xoxo
Love always,
Sister Davis
